Speaking after meeting concerned officials, Dr Vichai Chokewiwat, chairman of the Government Pharmaceutical Organisation (GPO), said the vaccine testing in human against A(H1N1) virus is postponed from this Wednesday (September 24) to October 5.

The reasons which contributes to the postponement is that A(H1N1) vaccine production team was still waiting for the results of immunisation against the pandemic and immunity stimulation in the guinea pigs.

Meanwhile, the results of vaccine contamination were not yet concluded as the health officials are waiting for the cell samples of chicken, rabbits and monkeys for comparison, Dr Vichai said.

In addition, Thai officials are waiting for the preliminary result of Russia’s human trials, which began on September 7.
